There is a psychological and behavioral component to being a financial planner, Will Lagos says. Life has its ups and downs, and emotions can cloud sound financial judgement for those dealing with either good or difficult personal and family issues. Yet when you have a trusted adviser to call upon – an individual who can remain compassionate yet provide unbiased advice – “that’s the true value of a financial planner,” the Verus senior vice president says.
Will is a proud graduate of Wake Forest University, earning a bachelor’s degree in economics and – aiding in his current role – a minor in psychology. Will comes from a professional background that includes working with an executive benefits firm specializing in deferred compensation and insurance planning. Known to be the first on his block with any new Apple product, Will and his wife, Katie, have three very active adult children. He enjoys camping, reading, and beach vacations with the family.
